Week Nine
Varsity/Frosh/Soph
On Wednesday our Varsity and Frosh/Soph hosted Fenton. Fenton came in already wrapping up conference, but the Bulldogs gave them all they could handle. We fell on both levels, but won some matches that will help us out for seeding purposes in the IHSA Regional.
Saturday our Frosh and Varsity traveled to OPRF to wrestle in separate tournaments. At the Freshman level, we had two wrestlers make the podium with Antonio Ochoa taking 2nd at 132 and Lou Grigoletti taking 3rd at 285. Varsity wrestled tough with this tournament, being the toughest competition we have seen all year. Three of the state's top 3A teams were represented and two teams from Wisconsin and Missouri were also there. This tournament was certainly a great amp up to get them ready for regionals in 2 weeks.

Week Four
Varsity
Wednesday night we hosted Glenbard South for our first conference match. We lost to GBS 51-24. Most of the boys got beat on some bad breaks and we didn't do as well as I had expected, but I do know by now where we are at. The mistakes we made definitely made an impact and letting the boys know to not look past any opponent. Saturday we traveled to GBS for a tournament that included 6 teams, placing 5th. Individually we had one 2nd at 170- Michael Reeze, one 3rd at 145- Nick Missiorioski, and three fourths: 120- Joe Sandora, 138- Vinny Zaccagnini, and 220- Nick Brusaw. We had some success from boys that haven't made the podium yet this year and have corrected the mistakes they were making earlier.

Week Three
Varsity
Friday night we beat Nazareth 47-23. I have noticed the boys starting to be more supportive of their teamates and showing more team unity, which I have been stressing all year. This is the same team unity shown during the tournament at Buffalo Grove. The boys were were cheering on their teamates as the tournament went on. I received a few compliments from refrerees at Buffalo Grove on the good sportmanship of the wrestlers. We placed 7th out of 12 teams. Individuallly 120- Andrew Misiorowski 6th place, 126- Danny Russell is now 10-2, 2nd place, 138- Vinny Zaccagnini 4thplace, 152- Mark Schraidt 3rd place, 170- Michael Reeze 5th place, 182- Joe Odeh 4th place, and 195- Jacob Bergmann 6th place. We had a couple matches that could have gone either way, but in all we did a little better as a team.

On Friday the Frosh/Soph wrestlers won their dual meet vs. Nazareth Academy 39-27. Freshmen John Szydlo, Vince Castillo, and Shannon Hickey won their matches at 126, 182, 220 pound weight classes. Keith Hermanek pinned his opponent in 31 seconds in an exhibition match at the 152 pound weight class.
